You will have significant experiences. I hope you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

Grandma's Covers

When you were small.....and just a touch away,
I covered you with blankets against the cool night air.
But now that you are tall.....and have moved far away,
I fold my hands and cover you with my goodnight prayer.

COLORFUL COASTERS

SUPPLIES

6 square tiles from your local hardware store (4.25" x 4.25")
6 pieces of scrapbook paper (3.75" x 3.75")
6 pieces of felt (3.75" x 3.75")
Mod Podge
Sponge brush
Glue (i.e. Fabri-tac or other strong adhesive)
Clear acrylic sealer

1. Brush one coat of Mod Podge onto tile.

2. Place one piece of paper on center of tile.  Allow to dry.

3.Brush on another coat of mod podge on top of paper.

4. Allow to dry 15 minutes and repeat 2-3 more times.

5.  After mod podge is dry, take tiles outside and spray with clear acrylic sealer.  Follow manufacturers instructions.  The sealer makes these tile coasters water-resistant.

6.  Allow coasters to dry completely.  Once dry, glue felt squares to the bottom center of the tile.

I loved these coasters and wanted to share. So easy and yet so useful and fun to give as gifts.

GRANDKIDS - A GIFT FROM HEAVEN

This is our little FARM GIRL Mya. She loves to play outside in the dirt and collect rock and sticks. Her mother and I were planting the garden and Mya was doing well to intertain herself. There is plenty of lawn but also plenty of good old farm dirt.

She gathered up some of her spoons and put them in the hub cap of the wheel on my car.

LIVING IN THE COUNTRY
Mya has had many animals to become friends with. Baby calves, dogs, chickens, a horse and now she has a friend named Lilly the family goat. Her mom would say, "Lets go feed the goat Lilly". Mya would call her Goaty. I guess Lilly and goat becomes goaty.

I melt when I look into these beautiful eyes. She loves to wear hats and has several, from cowboy hats, knitted hats to camo. Today was her camo hat day. No matter what she wears she is adorable.

 COWGIRL THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY
Mya was all dressed to have a good old country birthday with her Pink hat that she picked out, her snap on blouse, jeans and new boots. Oh and the belt buckle rocks. This June she turned 3 years old. She had 24 cousins and friends come to her party to ride the ponies. We had so much fun watching her enjoy herself. There was a buggy pulled by a minature pony also.  She was a great little host.

Our 2 grandsons who live out of state.

Dominic being the 2 year old is our little CHILL boy. He is so much fun. He goes with the flow and is so easy to please. He has the biggest SMILE and the cutest cheeks. Big blue EYES that soften up even the angriest mommy.

Dominic is a cuddle bug . He loves to be tickled and kissed and get smootches on the neck.

Danner the most loving dog in the world loved Dominic. He was no threat unlike Coleman his big brother who loved to rough house with Danner. Dominic would lay around and just let Danner play with him. I caught Danner licking Dominic's face one morning and grabbed this shot. I love it.
Coleman the big brother and man of the house.
Coleman is our first grandchild. Yes he did get very spoiled, and still does. He gives his mom and dad a run for their money and wears his mom out with his unstopable energy. He is such a BRAINIAC. This kid can do anything and wants to learn everything. He is creative minded.
Now how could anyone get upset at this cute kid?
This bike that he is about to ride is his moms bicycle when she was 3. We bought a new seat and new tires for him on his 3rd birthday. He practiced everyday for days til he could ride it. Now that he has a new helmet he is about to embark on a journey of riding his bike in the front yard and down the neighborhood street. He was so excited.

Christmas 2010 at grandma and grandpa's in front of the tree. Coleman had to show off his apple and Dominic was not about to give up his sippy.

Our grandchildren bring us so much JOY. By the time we had these beautiful people we knew exactly what to do and not to do. After all we had already raised 5 children, so what was there not to know right? Wrong.... these precious little souls are so different than our kids generation. They need a lot more stimulation and they are so darn smart. They are the LEADERS of their generation. The STRIPPLING WORRIORS that will bring in the second coming of the Lord. They are head strong, bright, intuitive, and ambitious little people. I love all of them so much and only hope that I can see the day that they grow into the great leaders that their wonderful parents taught them to be.

JEWELRY HOLDER

I have my earrings in a jewelry box. It is very inconvenient to find the matches, and they are always tangeled. It would not work for post earrings but great for wires. Oh the possibilities. Brought to you by www.laurathoughts81.blogspot.com

SCRIPTURE POWER

The POWER that I get each time I read. I'm grateful for the scriptures and the power to overcome the adversity in my life. We all have trials especially in todays world of poor economic times. Reading from the scriptures helps to keep my thoughts and actions focused on the Lord and the blessings that I have.
