I love Thanksgiving and all that it represents. I also enjoy making cute decorations to give the table a SPARK.
These cute hats will look fabulous by each place setting.
What You Need (to make 3 place cards):
3- 3″ Paper Mache Flower Pots or could use small clay pots
1- Black Craft Foam Sheet
1 – Yellow Craft Foam Sheet
Black Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint
White Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint
Red Apple Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint (band color around the hat, you may choose whatever color you would like to use)
Spring Green Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint (band color around the hat, you may choose whatever color you would like to use)
Liberty Blue Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint (band color around the hat, you may choose whatever color you would like to use)

Scissors Instructions:
1. To begin take your paintbrush and black Apple Barrel acrylic paint and paint each paper mache flower pot black and allow it to dry. Choose a color to paint the band around the top of the paper mache flower pot. Let it dry. To make the white dots on the painted black paper mache flower pot, dip the handle of your paintbrush in thewhite Apple Barrel acrylic paint and dot onto the surface.
2. Next, to make the brim of the pilgrim’s hat, cut a circle from black craft foam sheet. Make sure to cut it about 1/2″ wider all around than the paper mache flower pot opening. Use an appropriate size dish, cup, or lid to trace. Place a small amount of the Crafter’s Pick The Ultimate Tacky glue on the rim of the paper mache flower pot and glue onto the black craft foam circle.
3. Paint each band around the paper mache flower pot with the Apple Barrel acrylic paint of your choice. Here we have used Red Apple Apple Barrel acrylic paint,
Spring Green Apple Barrel acrylic paint, and Liberty Blue Apple Barrel acrylic paint.
4. To make the buckle, measure the width of the band of the pot (the portion painted a different color). Cut a rectangle out of foam that measures about 1/8″ deeper than the band on the pot. Glue it to the band with the Crafter’s Pick The Ultimate Tacky glue. Let the glue dry.
5. Use the black Apple Barrel acrylic paint or a fine Sharpie pen to write the guest’s name on the colored band. Allow it to dry before using
